Why Armenia Is on the Digital Nomad Map If you've been exploring options for remote work abroad, Armenia may not have been a go-to location on your list. But that's about to change! With flexible entry rules, relatively simple residency procedures, fast internet, and a low cost of living, Armenia offers something many "digital nomad" countries don't: ease and comfort.

"I can't believe I've never been inside," I remarked to my wife as we entered the Museum of the History of the Armenians of Cilicia in her native town of Nor Hachn. I was familiar with the memorial, designed in 1974 by architect Rafael Israelyan, and knew that it housed a museum. Nevertheless, I'd never visited. That day, we got lucky. The curator, a kind woman named Hayastan Simonyan (yes, that's her actual name), was in town and actually postponed an early visit to Yerevan just for us.

Meeting people like Henrik and hearing them speak about things they're passionate about is always a pleasure. It was definitely worth a 45-minute cab ride in traffic-crazy Yerevan on a Friday afternoon. He touched on some very important nuances in his field; nuances that we've all come across, but never really paid attention to. As Armenia stands at the crossroads of change, it's crucial to amplify voices like Henrik's, as they can alter the course of many things in Armenia for the better.

Scrolling through Instagram, you have most likely “come across” my new heroine and the world of her illustrated images, through which she expresses her boundless love for Armenia, its nature, and its people. Behind the soulful images of A of Art is Anais Zadikian, in love with her Homeland. This is how her Instagram page introduces her. Anais was born in Brazil and moved to Armenia in 2019 following her older and younger sisters: “We always had a dream to live in Armenia, but we never thought it would come true. Our life is both real and feels like a dream.”

While listening again to the recording of my meeting with my new hero, I realized that Razmik is the youngest among those I have written about over the past three years. Despite his young age, he has already managed to demonstrate determination and courage more than once, as well as a willingness to initiate viable ideas. While the stories of some of my heroes are about the fact that it is never too late to return to the homeland, Razmik Avagyan’s story is about the opposite: it is never too early to start a new life at home.

Since July 1, 2025, Armenia has introduced a system of electronic employment contracts operated through the State Revenue Committee. Initially, the transition to a fully digital format was expected to become mandatory for all employers.
