Personal Stories08.07.2026The triumphant journey of the “Symphonic Folk: The Epic Sound of Armenia” concert by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and music producer Serouj Baghdassarian (C-Rouge) continues. The music, which was first premiered in July 2025, has become, for many, a reminder of the Armenian people's genetic code, and for others, an anthem of returning to their roots. In a short period of time, Symphonic Folk has become not only a highly successful concert eagerly awaited by audiences around the world, but also the beginning of a new chapter in Serouj's relationship with his homeland, Armenia.

Personal Stories16.04.2026Scrolling through Instagram, you have most likely “come across” my new heroine and the world of her illustrated images, through which she expresses her boundless love for Armenia, its nature, and its people. Behind the soulful images of A of Art is Anais Zadikian, in love with her Homeland. This is how her Instagram page introduces her. Anais was born in Brazil and moved to Armenia in 2019 following her older and younger sisters: “We always had a dream to live in Armenia, but we never thought it would come true. Our life is both real and feels like a dream.”

Impact Makers30.04.20252 minBorn and raised in California, Dr. Shant Shekherdimian’s connection to Armenia began in 1997 during his first visit to Armenia. What started as curiosity evolved into commitment, and eventually, into a life deeply intertwined with Armenia’s future. Today Shant is a pediatric surgeon with a background in public health but in 2005, he and his friends chose to spend a summer teaching English in the village of Martuni. It was “a life-changing experience to be immersed in the village life.” Dr. Shekherdimian has found a way to consistently return to Armenia and has since repatriated, though still maintains his practice in California. As a professional, he has been embedded in the Ministry of Health as an advisor, working alongside government officials with a seat at the policy-making table since 2019. And yet still sees his role not as a savior, but as a student—learning, listening, and gradually contributing to a more sustainable healthcare infrastructure.
