Designed for English-speaking repatriates with zero or very basic knowledge of Armenian. Participants develop foundational skills in reading, writing, and speaking Eastern Armenian.
Repat Armenia provides free Armenian language courses in Armenia, sponsored by the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, to support the social and professional integration of repatriates.
These structured, face-to-face Armenian language classes in Yerevan are designed specifically for diaspora Armenians who have recently relocated and want to strengthen their language skills for daily life, employment, and long-term integration.

Tailored for Russian-speaking repatriates with little to no prior knowledge of Armenian. Participants develop foundational skills in reading, writing, and speaking Eastern Armenian.
For repatriates who already have a basic foundation and wish to improve their Armenian reading, writing, and speaking skills — particularly for professional development and workplace communication in Armenia.
Designed for participants with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Western Armenian who need structured support transitioning to Eastern Armenian for everyday and professional use in Armenia.
For upper-intermediate Armenian speakers who want to strengthen their professional communication and business writing skills in Armenian. This course is ideal for repatriates working or seeking employment in Armenia.

Courses are held three times per year. You may request a reminder as indicated above to stay informed about the next session.
Yes. Registration and application refer to the same process.
After submitting your application, please wait until the application deadline has passed. This is followed by a selection period, which typically takes 2–3 days after applications close. During this time, the Program Manager may contact you via email to clarify eligibility or other application details. Once the selection process is complete, you will be contacted by phone (using the number provided in your application form) to receive the selection results and course details.
No. The application period typically remains open for 2–3 weeks. We encourage all applicants to submit their applications within the stated deadline. If spots remain available after the deadline, this will be announced, and applications may be accepted on a rolling basis until all places are filled.
Yes, applications can be edited after submission.
No. Participants may enroll in only one group, as enrolling in multiple groups would reduce availability for other applicants.
Classes are currently held at the Hovnanian Family Foundation building.
Yes. All sessions take place at the same location.
No. Only in-person classes are offered.

Classes take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Yes. Since classes begin at 7:00 PM, they are scheduled after standard working hours and can be combined with full-time employment.
The courses are taught by instructors from Big Mind Academy, who have been part of this program since 2021.
The instructors are based in Armenia and hold Master's and PhD degrees in Armenian Studies from Yerevan State University and Yerevan State Pedagogical University.
Yes. Big Mind Academy instructors have over six years of experience working with repatriates.
Yes. The same instructor leads the group from beginning to end, unless unforeseen circumstances arise.
Beginner-level groups for Russian- and English-speaking repatriates are conducted in Russian or English, respectively, with Armenian vocabulary introduced from the first lesson. Intermediate, Business Armenian, and Western-to-Eastern Armenian Adaptation courses are conducted entirely in Armenian.

Yes. However, in intermediate, business, and Western-to-Eastern adaptation courses, participants are expected to primarily use Armenian and should not regularly rely on other languages.
Classes focus on developing practical Armenian language skills across all levels, including comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Depending on the course, participants may build everyday communication skills, strengthen grammar and vocabulary, transition from Western to Eastern Armenian, or develop professional and business communication skills.
Speaking is a core component of all courses. It is practiced through engaging activities such as games, debates, presentations, group discussions, and projects.
Homework may occasionally be assigned. However, considering participants' work and family commitments, assignments are given sparingly.
Yes. Textbooks are provided for beginner groups. Additional materials for other levels are being introduced progressively.
No. Participation is free of charge.
The application form includes questions to help assess your level. This is confirmed at the beginning of the course by instructors and, when applicable, through a placement test.
Yes. Intermediate-level applicants may take a placement test to ensure accurate group assignment.
Yes. Group changes are possible if the assigned level does not match your needs.
This course is designed for Western Armenian speakers with no or limited prior knowledge of Eastern Armenian.
Each group has a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 participants.
Efforts are made to group participants by similar proficiency levels whenever possible.
Participants typically range in age from 18 to 65. The average age is approximately 33.
Yes. Participants are expected to attend all classes.
Participants may miss up to two classes per month (maximum six per course). Additional absences should be communicated in advance.
Yes. Participants may coordinate with the instructor to arrange short catch-up sessions.
Participants who stop attending may be removed from the program and replaced by someone from the waiting list.
Yes. Certificates are issued upon successful completion, based on high attendance and satisfactory performance.
Yes. However, the certificate does not carry official academic accreditation.
Continuation within this program is not available. Alternative learning recommendations may be provided.
Participation is limited to allow access for as many repatriates as possible.
